The break was needed and I am back, no worse than when I started!

I have dropped the Google Adsense as it was proving of little value and in the end, I was achieving nothing but helping Google spread their worthless scripty tentacles of spam through our internet. I am even going as far as now recommending that you and everyone avoid the use of adsense and maybe even Google, completly.

I have started adventuring into the world of referrals and as of yet, have little to report.

Next post will be a report on my research into alternatives to Google.

Hiatus - Such a sad word.

It has been a few days, I know, I'm sorry but life goes on outside the web - I just wish that my computer was as resolute.

Today, I am not going to post anything. If you have been following my blog, it is likely that you have been dipping and diving around the net yourself anyway. If that is the case, then I am glad. Only you can get things working for yourself and no blog is ever going to give you the secrets of life.

Today I spent my time signing up to a great many online paid survey services and managed to create a good $10, spread all over the world that I am unlikely to ever see again.

Someone has clicked my Adsenses, which means that someone read my blogs! To this person/s, I say thankyou. You earnt me 30cents for your clicks.

As for the verdict on my research today? It will come eventually. The problem with such services, or atleast one of them, is that creating any retrievable income takes a long time, unless you are really good at getting people to sign up and give you referral points. If I am forced to preempt a verdict, I would warn that the horrible differences between the level of rewards given by referral and other activities really leaves the use of these webservices to the bots and scam artists.

The problem is not that everyone out there is insincere or unreasonable, it is simply that because their intent is quick cash, they really have no desire or concept of a fair service. If you have a big contact list and a multimailer, then by all means, spam away and make yourself some really easy money.

So Many Scams!

So many scams out there!
While looking around for some paid survey sites to test and compare, I found more sleeze than anything.

But how can you spot a scam?! Well...

eSurveysPRO says:

The bottom line is, if the hype for online paid surveys sounds too good to be
true, it likely is. That's the safest way to screen out "offers" that hype big
rewards for small investments of time or money. Don't be fooled by:

Testimonials - Ropers and shills typically write these for scams, not
satisfied customers.
Documented Proof - Some questionable paid survey sites provide checks
and other documental replications as "proof." But just because someone made
money at least once, doesn't mean that you will. Besides, with today's computer
technology, paid survey scams can counterfeit just about any document and make
it look authentic.
Guarantees - Don't believe guarantees that promise the Moon. Paid
survey sites can't possibly guarantee you much of anything, except that
they'll refund your fees if you're not satisfied.
But good luck collecting your refund if it's a paid surveys scam.

The "fine print" at questionable paid survey sites often contradicts much of
what their hype implies. (That's how they try to cover themselves legally.)
Don't let the hype alone sell you. Read all of the fine print too and ask
questions if it's vague or you don't understand it. Think twice about submitting
your personal information to any paid surveys site that does not provide a clear
privacy policy or arouses your suspicion in any other way. Also read
disclaimers, terms, conditions and any other fine print. Avoid sites that don't
answer your questions in a satisfactory and timely manner. Be wary of conducting
business with sites that list only email or PO box addresses for questions and
other matters, as they might be fly-by-night, paid survey scams.

Perform whois lookups to reveal if paid survey
sites were registered by proxy. If so, be wary of doing business with them too.
Site owners might be hiding their contact information behind proxy services,
because they're running paid survey scams. Whois lookups will also tell you if
different sites were launched by the same owners (unless they were registered by
proxy). If so, be wary about that too. Owners might have launched multiple sites
to make their "industry" appear to be more legit, dupe you into buying the same
list of paid surveys more than once, or both.

Check with the BBB for complaints against specific online paid
survey sites and their owners. But, be aware that, just because there are no
complaints, it doesn't mean that all who have conducted business with the sites
are 100-percent satisfied. It just means that no one has yet complained to the
BBB about those specific sites. More about that is below.

Browse scam forums, such as Scam.com and RipOffReport.com, for messages from
consumers who think they've been duped by online paid survey scams. But, proceed
with caution. Some messages are posted by ropers and shills pretending to
"rescue" those who've been duped by paid survey scams or who are looking to
avoid it. For example, the "rescuers" might say that all online paid surveys are
scams, except for the "wonderful opportunities" they've found. But, what they
don't tell you, is they profit from recommending the "wonderful opportunities".
Scam-forum moderators typically remove such messages. But, natch, they'll remain
posted until the moderators screen them.

The same goes for sites that claim to screen out paid survey scams, or that
rate or rank paid survey sites. Be wary if they link to fee-based middleman
sites or display ads for same, as they're probably trying to earn commissions
and referral fees by duping you. Natch, sites that pay them the most receive the
highest ratings or top-most rankings. Some even go so far as to display phony
award logos, hokey rating stars and such.

For more information about avoiding scams, see the consumer advice from
the FTC and BBB.
But, although both have issued general warnings about easy-money schemes (such
as work-at-home and Internet business-opportunity scams), at
this writing neither has specifically warned about online paid surveys. That's
likely because online paid surveys are a fairly new easy-money scheme at this
writing.

Regardless, this writer is willing to bet that it won't be long before the
FTC or BBB collect enough complaints to issue specific warnings. According to
reputable sources on the Web, local BBB offices have been flooded by complaints
against paid surveys sites.

If you've been ripped-off by online paid surveys scams, as indicated you may
file complaints with the FTC and BBB. You
may also file complaints with the U.S. government's Internet Fraud
Complaint Center.

Payed Surveys says:

The site should be hosted by an actual market research company with a web presence and contact information.
The site should never charge fees or make exaggerated earning claims. Most online surveys pay anywhere from $2 to $25 per survey
Check for an "about page" for some company history and specific information about their panel.
Make
sure the site looks professional, and does not just contain a bunch of
links to other survey sites. Real market research firms do not
advertise a bunch of other survey links, they just offer online surveys.
Make
sure the panel has a members area where you can view your stats,
earnings, and member profile. Also if a site offers sweepstakes
earnings, check for a current winners list.
If it sounds to good to be true than beware!
Google the site. What are other people saying about it? Read unbiased reviews from other members.
Still unsure which sites to join. Don't worry I will list a few good paid survey panels to get you started.

Using the Stumbled Upon Firefox addon I found THIS awesome blog, that is a list of neat and awesome Firefox addons! Amongst them, I found a real gem, called ScribeFire that lets me compose blog posts and then send them off, like emails!

There is also a lot of other great little bits and pieces that really show just how awesome Firefox is. Remember that a Firefox addon will run in Firefox, no matter what system Firefox is running on itself!

The bottom line? Why am I posting this? Well, for one, I had to test out ScribeFire (and it is great). But mostly, I wanted to bring up a finer point of something I said in my last post, that you need the right tools.
Well... Firefox is the right tools for the jobs!

There are a couple of things that need to be thought about before you even begin on the path of internet money making. Here are a few things that I think are fundamentally important:

1.) Get clean.
You may not think that drug, gambling, drinking, eating or any other kind of destructive, money sapping addiction has anything to do with making money online - It might even be the reason for your interest. The truth is however that online money is not an explosive arrival. Before you make any money you need to focus, work and use every last one of your brain cells to find a niche and dig in. Another point is that twenty dollars earned online is far more confidence building if it isn't going straight into that life destroying money pit. You have to be on your toes and you have to be confident. You have no need to throw your life away any more. :}

2.) Operating Environment.
Once more, a seemingly unrelated point. The truth is that you are only as efficient and as flowing as the tools that you are working with. If you are on an awkward, slow, messy, unstable system, then it might be time to look into something new. It just so happens that out there, there is an operating system that has been unwittingly designed as the perfect tool for the internet entrepreneur! gOS is great for what we need, because it is based around a 'Cloud System' which means that most of its applications are hosted over a network somewhere (in this case that is the internet). Blogger, GMail, Wikipedia, Meebo blah de blah de blah are just a click away and it is so fast and stable that your effieciency is bound to increase no end! Give it a go. It is not required but it is recommended.

3.) Mindset.
This is clearly much to do with everything. Do not make the mistake that so many do and expect to throw up a website and wait for people to come - It is not that easy and you will be learning as long as you are trying. The internet is a fickle thing and even after struggling yourself into a position where you are earning any amount of money on a stable basis, you still need to keep on top of everything and not go out of style and/or use. In short, be prepared to fail and work for the win.

4.) Resolve.
Really part of Mindset but important enough to have a number all of its own. You need to trust in yourself and not flake out. Ignore the get rich quick offers of an easier and more lucrative answer to your dreams. You know that they are just praying on your doubts and natural tendency to prefer the easy path. The easiest path is usually the quickest to nowhere. Also, stick to your gumptions when things are not going so great. The truth is that you can have many friends but you are the only one that can pull yourself through.

My very first blog post, so not even I am expecting anything too amazing.
I guess that the best thing to do, when I am not even sure if I am using the right template, is to outline my intent for this blog and perhaps link to a few inspirations.

PeriWink Online is mostly, well, completely a guide to making money online. There will be no links or suggestions towards quick cash scams and nor will there be any deceptive allegiance with any Pay Per Click advertising company. PW-Online is unlike, also, the majority of the other (many) 'how to make money online' blogs out there, in that the focus is not so much on how to make money online but how to go about it.
